Abraham Shaw arrives in Boston.

Shaw emigrates from Halifax, England. His grandson Joseph, a farmer and miller in East Bridgewater, sends four sons to Harvard and all become Congregational ministers. One of them, John, marries Sarah Angier, and three of their five sons become ministers. One of them, Oakes, has a son named Lemuel Shaw, who later becomes Chief Justice of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court.
